While many medically underserved patients have access to primary care services, language and literacy barriers, lack of transportation, cost, inability to leave work, and the complexity of navigating the modern medical ecosystem can make access to specialty care prohibitive. At the same time, physician shortages, particularly in rural areas, contribute to excessive wait times for much-needed specialty care, exacerbating existing healthcare disparities and resulting in poorer health outcomes and reduced patient and provider satisfaction.
MAVEN Project is on a mission to change that.
Our partners are primary care providers at safety net clinics serving historically marginalized populations. Our agents of change are a group of expert physician volunteers who average decades of experience and are invested in our mission and eager to share their wisdom.
Using telehealth technology, we facilitate peer-to-peer connections between providers and volunteers to create a medical brain trust. To empower providers to deliver exceptional care, we combine timely medical consults with continuing medical education and 1:1 mentoring. This comprehensive support helps relieve provider burnout and improve outcomes for patients.
